This review is from: The Incoherent Ramblings of an American Madman (Paperback) "Just met the man in a bar on the Tug Hill Plateau. His shovel parked outside, he was riding with a Vet buddy of mine. I am here to buy his book. We shared our love of Kerouac, of iconoclasm and the odd illicit anecdote or three. It gives me hope for this country that authentic brilliance can still exist in the mainstream without being sanitized by the Ivy League, corporate filter. "
Fuck me to tears! What an awesome read; laughed, cried, then laughed some more. I work with German's bro Jon in Alaska. He turned me on to your book. Now I'll have to turn my son (also an avid biker) on to your ramblings. One of these days we will meet and scream: "GET SOME, GET SOME!!!" hit the local gin mill and have "shots and a beer bro". Respect.

Joel I must say I can't leave home with out your book ! :) - Paula Cericola
I had the great pleasure of meeting Spartacus at Harley Rendezvous 6/2011 in Upstate NY where I purchased the book. First I want to say thanks for writing this book. I have just started reading it and there is a lot on the pages I sympathize with and too have felt or been through in some form. It was nice to know someone else out there rambles as much as I do. Glad he took the courage and German helped him find the strength to pick himself up by his boot straps and put pen to whatever he had to write on and share his life with us! There are times in the book you can envision what he was going through or feeling at that time and other times you think "wow how fucked up a person can get". This book speaks about the journey through his mind body and soul. One thing rings true... he is a man who has been through a lot, done a lot, and seen a lot, and that life for him is in no way near over! This book made me proud to live as I do, ramble as I must, and give the woman who put in the the darkness and ripped out my heart another shot at love and making it right this time. I have felt you’re pain Joel. The book is about a man, not a club, or some Hollywood polished bullshit, but true grit, raw and thought provoking take it or leave it. Freedom, life and Incoherent Ramblings! From one Bro to another.... “Full throttle until you meet God, then hit the brakes” - Author Unknown Much Respect an all the Best, Rob DeFreese – Upstate New York
"Very impressed...your writings remind of Jack Kerouac"
"I already read the whole thing the day I got it. Loved it! See you at The Shack!" - Dawn Dimon

I commend you my friend for laying it all out for us all to enjoy. Your brother Painter in the wind and may your guardian angel have nitrous and a seatbelt. - Jim Goodberry

Well I finished your book ..It was different ....But I do Have to say it was you all the way...Loved how your words just flowed......and someday you will find true love....sometimes it just takes time ..It took me 33 years to find mine ....so when is the next book comming out sure cant wait to read it........:) - Carolla Hill
Hi Joel, just finished my first reading of the ramblings.... I thought a few words were appropriate. first let me say I appreciate your honesty and courage. the act of opening ones self for all to partake is an exercise in masochism. But fuck it a little pain lets you know you still can feel! I also feel your pain, how could one not. An old friend merle haggard once sang that new love is the best love... and you know what? he's right. Stay hard brother, don't despair for only through words and deeds can the light of a darkened heart burst forth to warm our calloused minds. one day soon i must speak to you mano e mano. until that fateful day please for the love of all that's good drive fast and keep taking chances.

By Johnny Sears, Northern California (via Barnes and Nobles) "Finally a book about a biker and not a book about an outlaw club or undercover cop. This book is a breath of fresh air, espeically for the biker community. The author really expresses true freedom in his words and his poetry is the best I have read and written by a blue collar american brother! I tore through this book in one day and have read it three times thus far. There is chapter called "Capt Hollywood's Travelin Freak Show" and what a ride it most have been...it's a movie in itself...true american freedom. The author really hits home to anyone that has there heart torn out by a women and if your a women that has her heart torn out...then get this book. I hope to meet the author some day...a real deal...a real "biker" and an independent. Hope he writes another! If your a biker....old school or weekend rider then this book belongs in your saddle bag or tied to your back seat. Thanks Joel Waterman." - Johnny Sears, Northern California

I must say your writings are intense and begat total mental overload. 5 pages of consumption and my cranium is prepared to explode. This book will sober alcoholics and send the sane into insanity, and vice versa.
Your outposts need to prepare themselves at their own risk. Brain damage is on it's way. Love the book. Awesome stuff! - Bernie Kisley a.k.a Frosty
